This delightful, four storey character cottage retains many of its original features and is situated just off the harbour front only a minutes walk to the town and beaches.

The entrance from Church Place leads into the open plan Lounge/kitchen/diner which has a TV,  DAB Radio and electric fire. The modern Kitchen area has Induction Hob, Electric Oven, Fridge, Washing Machine, compact Dishwasher and Microwave. Stairs lead down to a basement which has an alternative seating area and  Ensuite which is fitted with a shower cubicle, wash basin, wc and heated towel rail. A door takes you via a private, shared lane onto the pretty, cobbled Baileys Lane. On the first floor there is a Twin bedroom with 2 x 3ft beds and a family bathroom with a bath, wash basin, wc and heated towel rail. Steep, narrow stairs lead to the double aspect master bedroom which has a king size bed, sea glimpse and Ensuite with porthole window, shower cubicle, wash basin, wc, large heated towel rail and sea views over the rooftops to Porthminster Beach.

Power and Heat: Electricity included in the rent. Central heating.
Bedding and Linen: Bed linen and towels provided, please bring your own beach towels.
Baby Equipment: None provided.
Beach: 0.1 ml. Pub: 0.1 ml.

ACCESS TO PROPERTY: Park at the bottom of Fore Street near Sloop Car Park entrance to unload. DO NOT LEAVE CAR UNATTENDED.

PROPERTY ACCESS: Very slight incline part concrete, part cobbled. Threshold step into property.


STAIRS/STEPS: Stairs to basement. Stairs to first floor. Steep, narrow stairs to attic bedroom.

FLOORING: Wood flooring with rug in basement. Wood flooring throughout living/kitchen area with rug in living area. Bedrooms carpeted. Bathrooms lino. Ensuites are tiled floors.

BEDROOMS: Access around kingsize bed. In twin room one bed accessed from one side only.


BATHROOMS: Bifold door on shower cubicle in basement. Low threshold step into shower. Shower cubicle in master bedroom. Threshold step into shower.

LIVING AREA: Blinds in bathrooms and kitchen. Curtains in bedroom and lounge and basement.

Lovely Cottage ideally situated in the downalong area - comfortable and clean and kitted out to a good standard. We've been 3 times now and will be back!

We had a lovely stay at Chain Locker. The location is just perfect for the town and beaches, but it’s really quiet despite being central. Everything was of a really high standard in the property and the beds were so comfy. We’d definitely recommend it.

As soon as you walk in , there is a lovely feeling of warmth. Not from central heating , but from a home from home warmth. This is our 2nd holiday in this house and when we return to St Ives we will be staying here once more.
