Pastimes Cottage is a three-storey town house right in the heart of St Ives. This property, although only minutes away from the bustling town centre, manages to feel detached and secluded. Set back from the street you enter through a charming courtyard garden, with mature tropical planting, that serves as a calm oasis from the street for an evening cocktail or morning coffee.
Luxuriously appointed throughout and ideal for families or a group of friends, the sandy beaches are only 5 minutes’ walk away. Local amenities are even closer and this property has the rare bonus of dedicated off-street parking (for one car) only 100 metres away. If you like a holiday home to be just that, then look no further than Pastimes Cottage for homely comforts and a perfect location, with an added touch of sophistication.
This cottage oozes charm and style. There’s an entrance porch which leads through to a luxurious, open-plan lounge/dining room with light carpets, squashy sofas and a statement piece dining table. (Due to the sophisticated décor only children over the age of 10 or babes in arms are allowed). Three elegantly-designed bedrooms – all with double or king beds – and three bathrooms makes this house the perfect place for family celebrations. You’ll find it equipped with all the mod cons you would expect along with a useful storage box at the front of the property, where after a hard day at the beach, you can store all your sandy items and wet suits.
Wi-Fi throughout the property, Sky TV, a Blu-ray DVD player, a Bluetooth speaker with surround-sound and a fantastic selection of books and games to keep everyone entertained. The kitchen is equipped with an electric induction hob, electric double oven, built-in microwave, dishwasher, American-style fridge/freezer, wine cooler and washing machine and dryer.
The first floor of the property is reached by a winding staircase which leads to two bedrooms and bathroom. There's a stylish, French-style bedroom with king-size bed, built-in wardrobe, dressing table and en suite shower room, basin, WC and a heated towel rail. The smaller bedroom has a double bed, chest of drawers and freestanding wardrobe. The family bathroom has a large deep bath and luxury shower over the bath, WC, wash basin, bidet and heated towel rail.
The main bedroom with a king size bed is on the second floor accessed up a flight of stairs and comes complete with a clothes storage and an end of bed TV for lazy viewing! There is also a dressing table and a distant sea view from the window. An en suite shower, WC and basin and heated towel rail complete this level.

Our stay at Pastimes Cottage was idyllic. It is such a welcoming space to relax in but also has a luxurious feel, to make holidaying there a real treat. It is a two minute walk to the sefont and with so many wonderful restaurants and shops literally around the corner, we couldn't fault either the cottage or the location. We will definitely look to go back in the near future!
This property is excellent - you won't be disappointed! It has luxury fittings and furnishings throughout and is spotlessly clean. Very close to town so you can walk everywhere - and yet it is quiet. Parking space nearby. Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone.
The property is very well-appointed, represents excellent value for money and is in an ideal location in St Ives.
From the moment we arrived to fresh scones in the kitchen to the time we had to leave we felt like we were at home. The cottage was great for all three generations of our family with lovely bedrooms, a great kitchen and superb facilities all round. It was a breath of fresh air to be able to walk around all of the town as the cottage was so central and not up any steep hills.
A great cottage for six in an ideal location in St Ives with a high standard of fittings and facilities. The use of a car parking space nearby is an added bonus and is a quite large one for Cornwall in our experience!
This is the second time we have stayed at Pastimes and we absolutely love it. A lot of effort has been put in by the owners to create a really homely feel for all to enjoy and relax within. The location is superb with it being so close to everything, set behind a beautiful front garden that leads out to the local amenities. The fact it has an allocated parking space is a real bonus nand incredibly convenient for obvious reasons. All of the bedrooms have so much space within, the kitchen is very classy with all the appliances you could wish for. We have stayed at a number of places in St Ives over the years, but this cottage has been by far the best!
