Try Porthmeor Beach (1 mile) for surfing or try Porthminster Beach (0.5 miles) for equally beautiful views. Soak in culture with visits to Tate St Ives (1 mile) and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden (1 mile). For bracing coastal walks, take a trip to National Trust Godrevy (10 miles) or Land’s End (18 miles), which was once known as Belerion. This translates as “place of the sun” in ancient Greek, so we know that people have been enjoying this picturesque place for thousands of years. Finish your holiday with a day at St Michael’s Mount, a unique island accessible by footpath or ferry, where you’ll find a medieval castle.
