No. 7 Tom’s Yard, a semi-detached Eco house in the pretty coastal town of St Ives, offers spacious and flexible accommodation over three floors, parking for 2 cars and enclosed gardens surrounded by trees, providing the perfect place to relax and unwind. No. 7 is one of 8 Eco Houses built around a yard at the top of Higher Stennack in St Ives.

The bustling harbour front of beautiful St. Ives is within easy walking distance (20 mins) from the house and offers a wide range of things to see and do, including, The Tate, The Leach Pottery, Barbara Hepworth Museum, fabulous beaches and numerous great pubs and restaurants. The coastal path can be joined via a 10 minute scenic walk from the house.  There is a handy bus service which operates from just across the road and will have you in the town within 10 minutes. There are taxi services to and from the town too, which is good to know if you don’t want to walk back up the hill after a relaxing day on the beach or maybe an active day surfing. If there are any skateboarders in the family, they will be keen to know that the innovative and ground-breaking St Ives Skate Park is only a quarter of a mile from the house. If horse riding is of interest, the Penhalwyn Trekking Centre is only just over a mile away. So many things to do, or you can just stop, relax, and have that well-deserved break.

This house and its flexible layout will particularly appeal to families with older children, multi-generational families or couples travelling with friends.

This flexible space is great as a studio apartment if holidaying with friends or older relatives who would like their own private space - can be fully self contained.

Double glass doors (curtained) lead to bedroom 1 with large ensuite shower room.

Outside: This property benefits from 3 outdoor areas; Front of House; A paved and gravel pathway leads from the property’s parking spaces, alongside the raised walled garden to the front of the house. The seating area (a bistro set for 2) catches the glorious morning and late afternoon sun. Please note this not an enclosed area. Side Ground Floor Enclosed Garden; Access to this garden is via a gate to the side of the house. It is a good sized paved courtyard patio framed with a pretty walled raised garden. Dining table and seating for 6. Raised decking (first floor); Accessed from the first floor lounge via double doors, with comfortable garden lounge furniture, there is a bolted security gate on the decking. The raised garden areas are not suitable for walking on, best viewed from the lovely patios and decking.

Notes:  Superfast BT broadband. Disposable BBQ's not permitted. No Smoking. As there are some steep steps and raised areas in the garden children should be supervised.

"COMMENTS: The ground floor is the area most suitable for someone who has mobility issues, it is a wood fllor (2 rugs which we could remove if requested) the other floors are accessed by stairs and in an emergency it would be 2 flights of stairs to walk down. Guests can exit via the first floor decking but there are steep steps in the garden to get down to the ground floor patio. theses steps although very pretty can get slippery and are not even. the ground floor can be self contained, please not it is limited to a double hob for cooking facilities- we may be able to get a microwave if essential. There are 2 level garden areas that can be accessed from the ground floor apartment. "

We have enjoyed staying here immensely- the layout with the separate studio made it so easy for a family with adult offspring to share some precious time in our childhood holiday destination. Coast paths and the beach are within 10 minutes, reached by foot. If you wanted to spend the day at the house you can have a great time relaxing on the wonderful terrace. The cottage has been a fantastic place to relax in Cornwall. The facilities and location are impeccable. The terrace is great for sitting and chilling out. The beds are super comfortable. The location up in Higher Stennack was no problem for us. The walk to the beach (whether Porthminster or Porthmeor) was always about 20 minutes. The way back was longer and there is a difference in altitude of almost 100m. The buses run regularly, but we did not use them. Conclusion: a wonderful cottage.

The owners have really thought of every small detail to make our stay a very comfortable one and relaxing too! It really is a home away from home! The kitchen is so very well stocked with gorgeous dinnerware and everything you need to cook and create holiday meals. The beds are so comfortable and every bedroom has i'ts own bathroom. The outdoor spaces are beautiful and a fabulous way to relax with a coffee or a glass of something. We could not recommend 7 Tom's Yard more.. just wonderful!

We stayed at Tom's Yard for a long girls weekend and I had the best time! We loved the house and it was the perfect place to chill after a long day exploring St Ives. Porthminster Kitchen on the harbour and Porthmeor Beach cafe were amazing and fish and chips on the harbour whilst watching the sunset and St Ives bakery for a true cornish pasty is an absolute must!! Great location, not just for St Ives main town & beaches but for exploring Cornwall, with easy access to Lands End, Lizard, Penzance. etc Very spacious and airy house and feels secluded despite having neighbouring properties nearby. Although the house isn’t in the main centre of St Ives, it is pleasantly away from the madding crowds, and it is an easy walk into town and beaches. Coming back up the hill could be a struggle for some, but we happily walked it. There are numerous taxis at very affordable rates if needed, which we used after having some evening drinks. It has been decorated to a high standard and consideration has been given to eco friendly contents where possible. We love the eco pans and have to go buy some for ourselves!

St Ives is one of Cornwall's top destinations and a beautiful seaside town where visitors can enjoy a traditional beach holiday with a twist. It's easy to understand why the town has been attracting painters, sculptors and ceramists for decades with its stunning scenery and natural quality of light- one of only four Tate Galleries in the world is located here in the heart of the town. The town itself arcs around the working harbour- the heart of the historic fishing community.
