‘Perfect, peaceful and private’ – could there be better feedback to influence your choice of holiday location? This two-bedroomed apartment certainly ticks all the boxes for a break in central St Ives: accommodation is on one level and it comes complete with a courtyard where you can enjoy sea air and sunshine away from the crowds.

You’ll feel at home the moment you head up the small set of steps into this self-contained apartment – located in a secluded courtyard setting, it features an open-plan living space where there’s room for four to relax, cook and dine companionably. A cool coastal colour palette hints at the seaside fun to be had close by, but this is a place to switch off and recharge your batteries. Enjoy a soak in the bath then climb into bed; there’s a pretty double room here, and another with two single bunks. Fresh air cravers can linger in the courtyard to the front of the property; there are stone steps at its street entrance and, once in, it’s a lovely quiet spot with outdoor seating.

It’s less than 200 metres from your doorstep to St Ives Harbour, where the wharf is lined with shops, pubs, cafes and galleries, and a sandy beach is revealed at low tide. Stroll along the waterfront and you’ll reach the grassy Island headland, home to ancient St Nicholas Chapel; continue on to the pristine sands of Porthmeor Beach, popular year-round with surfers and swimmers. Above it is the iconic Tate St Ives art gallery which celebrates West Cornwall’s wealth of artistic connections. For time away from the water, St Ives has lovely gardens, while the open space of The Malakoff is home to a Barbara Hepworth sculpture, ‘Epidaurus’. If you prefer to explore by car, take the coast road 20 miles south-west to Land’s End, or head 10 miles to Marazion and St Michael’s Mount.

In the most perfect, peaceful and private situation, No.3 is less than a minute from a lovely Tea Shop, a minute from a popular Belgian Cafe, but most importantly even less than two minutes from the seafront. Turn left instead, as you come onto street, and you are almost immediately into shopping land or down to the harbour. The comfortable, charaRead morecterful, cozy cottage provided everything we could ask for. We would have no hesitation in returning to stay again in the future. Hide
