Location
Located on the outskirts of St Ives, Carbis Bay is one of Cornwall's five award-winning Blue Flag beaches. Carbis Bay is a large sandy beach with is excellent for bathers or small children, as the waters generally always remain calm with watersports such as kayaking and stand up paddleboarding on offer. Dogs are welcome in winter, or in the early mornings during the main season.
Carbis Bay is just a short train ride to the centre of picturesque St Ives or you can take a leisurely stroll along the coastal path to St Ives, Lelant or the nearby town of Hayle. Bird watchers can walk along the east side of the beach at low tide where you'll find Porth Kidney and the RSPB bird sanctuary, an important home for seabirds.
