Kite Surfing Off Hayle
Towans
Taken on a sunny but

The first trips out in
the Celeste, the first 'Jumbo' to be built in over 100 years.
This lugger, built by
Jonny Nance, was launched and named in St Ives on 8th September
as the first stage of a project set up by Jonny which aims to establish
them as a
new racing class for the town. She is a replica of the smallest
class of fishing lugger
developed specifically for St Ives in the 1880s.
She is pictured here
sailing on Saturday 22nd September with Jonny taking members of
St Ives Sailing Club out to experience sailing as it was done over a
century ago.

June 2007

'Lord Arthur Savile's Crime' at
The Minack Theatre,
Porthcurno
during an evening performance in June.
The Minack theatre was constructed in
the 1930s by the late Miss Rowena Cade
who lived in the large house just behind the theatre. It provides an
incredible backdrop
to the huge variety of plays performed weekdays during the summer
months (June to September),
creating an especially dramatic atmosphere as the sun goes down.
It can get cold (or possibly a bit damp) as the evening draws on, but
it's well worth wrapping up for,
and a picnic and performance at the Minack will be remembered
forever.
During the day, when performances are
not taking place,
you can also visit the theatre and visitor centre (for a small
charge).
Visit the Minack Website at
www.minack.com for more
details.

Sailing in St Ives Bay.
A testing race in strong and gusting
winds.
The Stratos in the foreground raced passed the capsized Laser using it's
big
gennaker for extra speed, but regretted the decision to use it moments
later.

Winter Coastal Walks
Botallack's Crowns Mine
near Pendeen.
To the east lies the mines of Levant and Geevor whilst to the west lies
St. Just.
There has been a mine in this area for at least 400 years,
and these are excellent examples of the old mine head workings.
