Unique Gardens

Trebah Gardens, near the Fal estuary

With its warm, humid often sub tropical climate
there are many spectacular gardens around
Cornwall which have a wide range of plants,
many of which will only grow in the far
South West.

The winter weather in Cornwall can often be
too severe for these plants to survive so many
of the best gardens are found in sheltered
valleys away from the worst of the winds and
with a good supply of water for the thirsty fast
 growing species.

Spring comes to Cornwall a few weeks earlier
than much of the rest of England so if you are
thinking of timing a visit to coincide with the
wealth of spring flowers you may want to plan
for March/April rather than April/May.

The National Trust manages a number of
gardens in Cornwall, so do not forget your
 membership cards when you come.

It has been described as one of the wonders of
the modern world, and no gardeners visit to
Cornwall can miss out a visit to the
Eden Project.

As the outside gardens and Biomes mature
the spectacle is continually increasing.
