Cleaning

Although properties are cleaned between bookings you are expected to keep and leave the property in a clean and tidy state. Should any additional charges be made by our cleaners these will be deducted from your damage deposit.

Damp

The Cornish air is often warm and moist which tends to cause condensation, and we would advise all visitors to open windows to permit through air.

Pets

Visitors pets are only accepted in properties which specifically state this in the property details, but there is no guarantee that there have not been pets in other properties.  

( i ) When pets are permitted an additional charge of £20.00 per pet per week is required.
( ii ) Pets must not be left in the property unattended.
( iii ) Pets must not be allowed in bedrooms.
( iv ) Visitors must bring pets own bedding and under no circumstances can bedding or furnishings provided for visitors be used.
( v ) Visitors are responsible for any damage that they may cause.
( vi ) Please note that if you suffer from pet allergies, we can not guarantee that there have not been pets in other properties as for example some owners may bring their own pets even when the property states no pets.
(vii) Neither St Ives Holidays nor the property owners can accept responsibility for pets safety.

Please note that between the Sunday before Easter Day and 1st October, dogs are NOT allowed on most beaches during the day.
Dogs are generally permitted on Bamaluz Beach, Lambeth Walk Beach and Porthkidney Sands (Lelant).
Seasonal restrictions vary by beach with some restrictions 24 hours and others time specific.

Damage Deposits

Allergies

If you are allergic to animals, check with us before booking any accommodation. In some instances owners bring their own pets but do not allow visitor's pets.

Car Parking

Car Parking
Unless individual details state that there is a garage or space for a car you will have to use one of the local Car Parks. All parking including reserved spaces are at the car owner’s risk.

Visitors can purchase a weekly "Long Stay Rover" ticket in advance from the council for £35.00 (charge from 15th March 2012). Weekly "Rover" tickets are valid on any Long Stay car park throughout the County. Note: weekly tickets do not guarantee a space but can be used in any council long stay car park. Visitors may purchase tickets at the pay and display machine using £1 coins for £35 (charge from 15th March 2012) at the Island or Trenwith Car Parks. Alterntively visitors can use the RingGo system to pay via a Mobile Phone. These tickets cover individual Car Parks only.

Bed linen and towels

Bed Linen is supplied only if the individual details include linen. Towels and tea towels are not supplied unless specified.

If needed, Linen and towels can be hired by arrangement from Done n Dusted (01736 795404) or Star Linen Hire (01736 791685, www.starlinenhirestives.co.uk ) or Job Well Done on 01736 796696.  They will deliver the linen to the property for you and collect it after your holiday, please contact them direct before your holiday to make any necessary arrangements.

Short breaks

Short breaks might be accepted outside the busier seasons, but are always subject to availability and agreement of the owner.  Some properties will not take short breaks at all, and many will only take short breaks a few days in advance. If you would like to take a short break please contact us to discuss it.

Short breaks are charged as follows:
 60% of week price for 3 nights; 70% of week price for 4 nights; 80% of week price for 5 nights;
 with minimum a charge of: £160 for 2 persons per week plus £20 per additional person.

Booking for next year

We can take bookings up to 11 months in advance. For example, a booking for the week ending Saturday 19 April 2014 can be booked from noon on Saturday 18 May 2013. These bookings are taken on a Provisional basis and will be subject to the property being available. We will send an acknowledgement of the Provisional booking but we will not require a deposit until the booking form is sent with our new brochure in October.

If you stay in a property, you will have 2 weeks after your holiday to provisionally book the same period next year, after which that week(s) will be made available to other visitors

Changing a booking

Once a booking has been confirmed the booking cannot be changed to another property except by dealing with the booking as a cancellation (see cancellation). The dates of a booking may be changed within the same calendar year if available and the owner agrees in which case a re-booking fee of £15.00 will be payable.

Cancelling your holiday

Cancellations must firstly be advised by telephone to St Ives Holidays followed by written confirmation within 7 days. St Ives Holidays will use their best endeavours to secure another booking on the property for the same term and if possible for the same charge but reserve the right to negotiate a charge. Any refund will be made less the booking fee, which is non returnable. St Ives Holidays shall not be liable at the suit of any hirer of accommodation on the grounds that St Ives Holidays have not used their best endeavours or for any other reason.

If the cancellation is covered by the inclusive insurance, you must also advise the insurance company.

If the property has not been re-let and is not covered by the holiday cancellation scheme the full hire charge will still become due 6 weeks before your holiday commences. Holiday Cancellation Scheme details are provided on the Holiday Cancellation Scheme Page

Office Opening Hours

Our office opening hours are

Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm

additionally from 13th July to 14th September 2013 we are open until 6pm on Saturdays

We are closed on Sundays and most bank holidays.

Key collection times

Keys are available for collection from our offices after 3pm on the day of arrival. After our offices are closed alternative arrangements are available until 9pm.  After 9pm the keys will not be available until 9am the following morning.

Vacating your property on the day of departure

All properties MUST be vacated by 10am on the departure day.  Keys must then be handed back to our office by 10.30am that day.  We are afraid that this cannot be extended as properties must then be prepared for the next visitors.

I am arriving by train/coach, can I arrange for a taxi to pick me up ?

Yes.  Please contact DJ Cars on 01736 796633 or Carbis Bay Private Hire on 01736 793503.  They can collect your key from us first and then collect you from the station when you arrive if you ask them, they may make a small charge for this.

What is provided at the property ?

All properties are fully furnished as detailed in the property details.  All basic utensils etc should be provided, including basic cooking utensils and cutlery, an iron and generally an ironing board, cleaning cloths etc.  If you use anything specialised or have any favorites, we advise you to bring your own. 

Consumables are NOT provided such as toilet rolls, cleaning materials, washing powder, salt & pepper etc.

Towels are never provided unless specifically noted in the property details. Bed linen provided is different at each property and is detailed in the property details.

Group bookings and age limits

We regret that bookings will not be accepted from:-
( i ) Groups of single persons under the age of 30 years.
( ii ) All male or all female parties in excess of two.

St Ives Holidays reserves the right to accept/refuse bookings at their discretion.

Television Reception

Interference to the picture can be experienced at times and is not necessarily a fault in the set or the aerial but can be due to the granite hills in the area, the tides and/or weather conditions.

Swimming Pool & Leisure Centre

St Ives has a Leisure Centre & 25m Swimming Pool situated at Trenwith Burrows at the top of St Ives. The facilities provided currently include:

  •  6 lane 25m pool
  •  Learner pool
  •  Sports cafe
  •  60 station Harpers fitness gym
  •  dance studio
  •  fitness classes
  •  function suite

Family and individual weekly membership is available for swimming and/or Harpers, as well as daily swimming sessions. Contact the leisure centre for their current charges.
